Celebration for Mid-autumn Festival (17/9/2024)

Date

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important traditional festivals in China, celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. This year, it falls on September 17. The festival marks the end of the harvest season and serves as a time for giving thanks for the bounty of the land. It is also an occasion for families to come together, similar to Thanksgiving in the West.  At Ching Chung, the Chinese Language subject organized a special celebration during lunchtime. A traditionally iconic big mooncake was shared with students, allowing everyone to partake in this delicious cultural treat. Additionally, students were taught how to make their own colorful lanterns, adding a creative touch to the festivities. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement, especially at the LOVE PLATFORM on the ground floor, where the celebration took place.
