On 4 March 2024, a group of more than 10 Tuen Mun District Council (TMDC) members and their assistants visited C.Y.M.C.A. Secondary School to learn more about how to design a feature AEROSTEM education for students and set up relevant supporting facilities and curriculum in the secondary school. Based on the national emphasis on "Science and Education for a Better Country" and the Government's vision of promoting Hong Kong as a future aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific region, Principal Dr. CHEUNG shared with the delegates how STEM education can be integrated with the concept of aviation in the curriculum, and how it can help students to develop their career plans. The visit not only enabled Members to gain a better understanding of our achievements in aviation and STEM education, but also provided opportunities for mutual co-operation in the future. Members expressed their willingness to invite students from the Tin Shui Wai,Tuen Mun and Yuen Long Districts to work with us in the promotion of STEM education in the future, including the organisation of study tours to the Greater Bay Area and Airbus aircraft manufacturers in Italy. Principal Dr. Cheung also thanked Mr. Anthony Ng, Supervisor for attending the event and sharing with Members.
